What is the role of the synthetic/biofuels?
The synthetic fuels are a renewable energy source that have their origins in animal biomass, plants or algai. They are regarded as a promising candidate for reducing CO₂ emissions in the transport sector, with the two most common biofuels being bioethanol and biodiesel. Our technology uses the cellulose ethanol of the “second generation” which comes from low-value biomass such as crop residues and “third generation” biomass which comes from wood chips and forrest waste with a high cellulose content. It is thus not involved in the “tank or table” debate connected with the “first generation” biofuels such as corn or soybeans.
